MEET YOUR COACHES

HAMRunning was founded by two sisters who grew up supporting one another in cross country and track. The duo is now aiming to build a positive running culture with (S)MILES—The feeling you get when you go out for a run—that positive energy that you bring back with you and take into your day. Maybe it’s the feeling of checking off the hardest thing for your day, maybe it’s making a new friend while pounding the pavement, or maybe it’s a sense of clarity and peace from taking in the scenery.

(S)Miles looks different for everyone—to keep it simple: Movement is life. Life happens when you move. HAMRunning is here to help you run, get out, and enjoy the journey and the adventure of bettering yourself. Together, their goal is to provide coaching to those pursuing a goal—from a first 5K to chasing down an opportunity to toe the line at the Boston Marathon. Whatever your goal is, they want to work with you to achieve it; providing structure to your training, expertise knowledge and advice, accountability, and support to help you reach your next finish line!

Since the young age of 12, Nicole has found a love for running and the freedom afforded by getting out and testing her limits. Throughout the years, she competed in high school cross country and then transitioned to collegiate athletics, running Division I cross country at the University of Evansville. She completed her first half marathon in 2006, her first marathon in 2014, and her first IronMan in 2022, and has ran in the Boston Marathon in 2017 and 2022.

While she enjoys the thrill and challenge of competing for herself, she has also discovered a passion for coaching others. Since 2016, she has been coaching various athletes in distances ranging from 5Ks to marathons. Her coaching programs have fostered innumerable successes and achievements including top state finishes among high school athletes, Boston marathon qualifications, and victory half marathons for those who have conquered serious illnesses and injuries. She has a deep desire to work with athletes to reach their goals and continues to have a passion for running beyond the finish line.

Kim has been running competitively for more than 15 years. Her running journey began in the most unlikely of places—on the softball field. As a high school freshman, she lacked the skills of the upperclassmen, but had “wheels,” and was frequently called up as a pinch runner. After a season of this—she ditched the diamond and found her way to the track.

In high school, she ran cross country and track, swam and played lacrosse. In college, she continued running for her collegiate run club and competed on the triathlon club at Ball State University. She ran her first half marathon in 2008 and first marathon in 2013. She was part of the winning RAGNAR Bourbon Chase Relay (Mixed—Ultra Division) in 2019 and 2022 and has qualified and ran the Boston Marathon… A 4-year, 2,500-mile journey to the start line and the roots of HAM Running. Through this experience, Kim discovered the positive impact of having a plan and a coach, and the joy of crossing a finish line that was once just a dream.

She has since coached athletes to achieve peak performance, unlock their potential, push past mental and physical barriers, discover new meaning to their miles, and reach their goals.
